A pilot of social work support in a primary health setting was undertaken and elvauated in a small rural community in New Zealand. This pilot was part of a social work placement to identify if this type of service would benefit the local community. Social isolation, poverty, and mental health issues were all themes identified as met by having this type of service available onsite at a general practice.
