Community Research has an exciting opportunity available for people interested in working within a Tiriti-based governance structure to contribute to the strategic oversight of our not-for-profit organisation. We are recruiting one board member for our Tangata Tiriti caucus, and two board members for our Tangata Whenua caucus. These are voluntary roles for a term of three years.
We contribute to a healthy, engaged and informed Tangata Whenua, Community and Voluntary Sector by sharing research and resources through web-based technologies. We connect those working in the Sector to resources exploring community-based knowledge to enable a real difference to how people work with communities. Our work includes the Community Research website, our webinar programme, the What Works website, the Whānau Ora Research website, the Code of Practice for Community Researchers, and our Directory of Researchers.
An integral part of our organisational whakapapa is our commitment to a Tiriti relationships framework. We operate a two house model of governance with a Tangata Tiriti caucus and a Tangata Whenua caucus that together govern our organisation. This governance model allows for different world views to be embedded in our organisational culture and directs the work that we do, the voices that we amplify through our webinars and the online resources that we share.
The ideal candidates for the roles will be:
- Committed to the vision and purpose of Community Research;
- Able to demonstrate strategic leadership skills;
- Committed to our Tiriti-based governance model.
In addition, we are particularly interested in applications from people with any of the following attributes:
- Experience working with organisations from the Sector;
